Lisa Marie Jones

Lisa-Marie Jones, DBH, M.Ed, HS-BCP, has taught and designed integrated health and human service courses at the graduate level for three universities and has provided direct healthcare along with behavioral prevention and intervention with diverse populations of people in a variety of settings. She is a Doctor of Behavioral Health and Human Service Board Certified Practitioner who earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Phoenix (UofP), a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Relations from Northern Arizona University (NAU), and a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University (ASU). Her doctoral culminating research project indicated statistical significance with the effectiveness of a psycho-educational and therapeutic chronic pain management group that she developed and implemented in the primary care setting. Along with teaching and curriculum development, Dr. Jones provides integrated health consultation and diversity training for healthcare providers and organizations and is also a DBH culminating project committee volunteer and a member of the Pacific and Southwest Regional Health Equity’s National Partnership for Action. She is an avid life-long learner and pursuer of personal development with spiritual growth being her primary focus. Dr. Jones is a happily married empty-nester of three adult children and three grandchildren. She is interested in voice over narration as well as researching, writing about, and teaching various topics with a special interest in communication (verbal and nonverbal), culture, health behaviors, stress management, population health, and health equity. She is committed to providing collaborative support to meet the personal and professional development needs of adult learners.
